PATAGONIEN.
Traumland für Bergsteiger und Reisende
Gino Buscaini and Silivia Metzeltin
have written the most complete book, only to be compared with
the majestic books of P.Alberto M. de Agostini, about the region
of the Patagonian Andes of the last years, their history, myths,
geography and climbing information regarding routes, ascents,
maps, etc. They actually regret though that their book also
helped hundreds of non environmentally concious climbres have
visited the area in the past years leaving a terrible trace,
filling places with garbage, ropes, complete camps, etc. and
turning some base camps into similar places in the Himalayas.
There almost never is a good enough reason for leaving left-overs
all over the Patagonian Andes.
