Welcome!, in this site I share my effort to
collaborate in
the development of theory and algorithms to build "intelligent"
machines. My main research area is Machine Learning with
applications ranging from Robotics to Data Mining.
Today
computer-based machines are starting to perform new tasks in less
structured and less predictable environments, however the great
advances, most of these machines are still very dumb. So there is still
plently of space to help moving the technological boundary by
conducting applied and theoretical research that can have a great
impact in our society. Autonomous robots able to operate in
natural environments, pro-active computer programs able to explore and
extract knowledge from the web, new techniques to detect relevant
patterns in genetic data, among many others, are some of the exciting
areas where Machine Learning is a key technology.
